film ratings

When researching what target audience me and my partner was going to be making our film for. We researched information about different ages and what the age rating meant and if it was appropriate.

U stands for Universal. When a film is rated U this means it is suited for any age. This can be animated or a film with normal actor’s. They don’t contain any violence or scene that are inappropriate to viewers of a young age.

PG stands for parent guardian. This means that children under 13 have to be supervised by an adult or someone over the age of 18.  PG films mainly contain bad language, violence and brief nudity.

12A means if you are over the age of 12 you are aloud to watch this film without being with an adult. 12 rated films may contain strong language and sexual references.

Rated 15 mean that you have to be at least 15 years of age to watch this film without an adult. Rated 15 films may contain strong language, sexual references and mature themes.

Rated 18 means that you have to be 18 or over to view this film. Rated 18 films mainly contain very strong language, violence senses and sexual senses.

My partner and me have chosen to rate our film 15 because it may contain some strong language and mature features.
