evaluation

Question 1: my partner and I tried our best to follow all the main conventions of a thriller movie; we did this by the different types of locations that we chose. Many types of thrillers are shot in unusual and quite places. When they are shot here, this usually means that something will happen.
We chose to use different places around the school because we thought that it would be the best place to film quite shots and scenes and also we could shoot different shots behind trees and bushes to give it the good effect of a stalker. In part of our movie we shot two girls walking over a busy bridge, we chose to do this because we felt that it would make it look like that they are being stalked, this would make the audience feel uneasy.

Question 2: my partner and I thought the best target audience would for our film would be 15-25 year olds, the reason for this is because my partner and I know the types of films that this audience would like, and also because our film tells the audience what could happen to them if they are not careful. We choose to represent this by having two girls constantly being stalked in different areas. We also show at the beginning a news report about a girl being interviewed.
The main reason on why I and my partner choose our age group was because we wanted the audience to understand what was happening in the film and the story behind it, if our film was aged for younger people then they might not have a clear understanding.

Question 3. My partner and I did a lot of research about the different film institutions that we could use in our film and which one would suit our genre better. After thinking about it a lot and discussing it we decided to use paramount, the reason for this is because that when looking at the company they mostly makes thriller movies.

Question 4. The audience for our media project will be males and females with the age from 15 to 25 year olds. The reason behind this is because of the different types of things that we are including in our film, my partner and I wanted to keep everything to a minimum and not give everything away to the audience but yet still give them a clear understanding. We thought that this was a good idea because it will make the audience want to watch more and also will make them feel uneasy.
Question 5: The way my partner and I attracted the audience was having a story that they can relate to because it happens in everyday life and commonly happens and it is always in the media. We addressed our audience by using actors that are the same age as them. This will make it much easier for the audience to relate to the young girls. After we had finished our film opening we put it on the internet using YouTube and Facebook to get some feedback on what the audience thought of our film, in minutes we got comments saying that they enjoyed watching the film and wanted to watch more, they also said that in some parts it made them feel uneasy and they liked the shots ate the end with the music as they got faster. This was the response that we were hoping for.
6. when looking back and my partner and I’s prelimary task we thought that we had come along way and defiantly improved a lot. We also thought that our shots were clearer and less jumpy. We also learnt a wide range of shots and angles and also more importantly we learnt a lot about editing, we used final cut express and I movie to create some great effects to make it more dramatic. At times during the editing it got a bit stressful but we both got there in the end.
Overall I think that my partner and I have come a long way from our first task and have learnt so many different things, we have also learnt that we work well as a team very well and I am proud of what we have both achieved.
