evaluation

Question 1: my partner and I tried our best to follow all the main conventions of a thriller movie; we did this by the different types of locations that we chose. Many types of thrillers are shot in unusual and quite places. When they are shot here, this usually means that something will happen.
We chose to use different places around the school because we thought that it would be the best place to film quite shots and scenes and also we could shoot different shots behind trees and bushes to give it the good effect of a stalker. In part of our movie we shot two girls walking over a busy bridge, we chose to do this because we felt that it would make it look like that they are being stalked, this would make the audience feel uneasy.

Question 2: my partner and I thought the best target audience would for our film would be 15-25 year olds, the reason for this is because my partner and I know the types of films that this audience would like, and also because our film tells the audience what could happen to them if they are not careful. We choose to represent this by having two girls constantly being stalked in different areas. We also show at the beginning a news report about a girl being interviewed.
The main reason on why I and my partner choose our age group was because we wanted the audience to understand what was happening in the film and the story behind it, if our film was aged for younger people then they might not have a clear understanding.

Question 3. My partner and I did a lot of research about the different film institutions that we could use in our film and which one would suit our genre better. After thinking about it a lot and discussing it we decided to use paramount, the reason for this is because that when looking at the company they mostly makes thriller movies.

Question 4. The audience for our media project will be males and females with the age from 15 to 25 year olds. The reason behind this is because of the different types of things that we are including in our film, my partner and I wanted to keep everything to a minimum and not give everything away to the audience but yet still give them a clear understanding. We thought that this was a good idea because it will make the audience want to watch more and also will make them feel uneasy.
Question 5: The way my partner and I attracted the audience was having a story that they can relate to because it happens in everyday life and commonly happens and it is always in the media. We addressed our audience by using actors that are the same age as them. This will make it much easier for the audience to relate to the young girls. After we had finished our film opening we put it on the internet using YouTube and Facebook to get some feedback on what the audience thought of our film, in minutes we got comments saying that they enjoyed watching the film and wanted to watch more, they also said that in some parts it made them feel uneasy and they liked the shots ate the end with the music as they got faster. This was the response that we were hoping for.
6. when looking back and my partner and I’s prelimary task we thought that we had come along way and defiantly improved a lot. We also thought that our shots were clearer and less jumpy. We also learnt a wide range of shots and angles and also more importantly we learnt a lot about editing, we used final cut express and I movie to create some great effects to make it more dramatic. At times during the editing it got a bit stressful but we both got there in the end.
Overall I think that my partner and I have come a long way from our first task and have learnt so many different things, we have also learnt that we work well as a team very well and I am proud of what we have both achieved.

when my partner and me were choosing font for the title of our film.  we looked around loads of websites for the one that looks the most effective. We decided on these five and we would see what all of them looked like in the film. These are no the five we had to choose from.

This is the first one we pick. We picked this one because we like that it is all in capitals, this makes it stand out and catches people attention. We also like way that it is written in white and it has a black outline.

This is the second one that we pick. We chose this one because we like that it looks like blood dripping down. This links in with out theme of having a stalker. We also like that were it all in black and bold writing it stands out a lot.

This is the third one. We chose this because we liked the idea that it looks like its written in blood. It gives you a hint into what the film might be about. We also liked that its not all blocked colour and its streaky.

This is the fourth one. We chose this one because we liked that it didn’t look like your normal font that you would use for a thriller film. It is all one colour and all the letters look shaved down at the bottoms.

This is the fifth one. We chose this because like the third one it looks like it written in blood or some sort of liquid. It looks like it has been painted and we felt this was a good effect to go with our film.

different shots we have taken.

here are different types of shots that we took for the opening of our film, we felt that some of them were good enough to put in our film, how ever we also think that some of them weren't

location

My partner and I have chosen to do filming both on school grounds and off  school grounds. This will  gives us range of different shots and different scenes . We found that filming in school was easier because we had lesson time to go out and film, this meant not many people were about and we could a few shots and didn't have any interruptions . But when we was filming outside school we could know that there wasn’t going to be people getting in the way and how many times we would have to retake the shots.

The shots that we did in school were mainly shot on the field; we did this because we felt that this was a good place as it had trees and brushes to film behind. This gave the shots a good mystery effect   as it’s about a stalker.

The Dark Knight’ is a Warner Bros. picture, which is an action/adventure. It was released in July 16, 2012 it was directed by Christopher Nolan. In this opening scene all the logos and titles are in black and blue which shows horror and thriller, the fonts are bold this makes them stand out which makes them more noticeable to the view. They use an extra long shot on the first shot of the film so that you know where the scene is being shot and as they zoom in it make the viewer wonder what is going to happen next. As the window smashes you see a man with a clown mask on and as they are breaking into the bank they start describing on of the main characters the ‘Joker’. When the show the man standing at the end of the road holding a clown mask and standing with he back to the camera this makes me wonder what does he look like? And why hasn’t he got his mark on? As they zoom in on the mark it builds up the tension on what is going to happen next. After that it goes back to the two men in the office window, as they zip wirer down to the roof of the bank they use a Birdseye view shot, this is where they shoot a scene from above looking down on the actors.

costume ideas

In our film opening we didn't really have any specific costume ideas, we felt that this wasn't really needed because our aim for our genre was to be realistic so whatever we was wearing that day we just decided to go with it, most of our shots in our film were outside so most of us were wearing coats so when doing our over the shoulder shots and extreme close up we made sure that we were wearing the same coats if we needed to film again. however if we needed to re film so other stuff like for example extreme long shots we made sure that we were wearing the same clothes so it made the film look more realistic.

paramount

my partner and I have chosen to use paramount this is because it fitted in with our genre
